NEW CENTURY BOWMEN provides archery all year round for the Macclesfield catchment area in an attractive part of North Cheshire's green belt.
Ideally situated in Whiteley Green - between Macclesfield and Poynton - the club provides the local area, borough and surrounding area with a sporting facility which is ideal for all ages and abilities, including the disabled.
If you have an interest in Archery - but have never had the opportunity to try it (except maybe at a fun fair trying to win that fluffy toy) - come along and to see what it's all about. We welcome all ages and abilities (we all have to start somewhere). We area friendly bunch who'll try our best to put you at ease.
With help from Macclesfield Borough Council, the Sports and Arts Federation, and the Lottery - not to mention a lot of tenacity from club members - we now own our land and indoor Clubhouse. The Ground accommodates up to 30 targets at up to 100 yards and the Clubhouse provides facilities available for club members all year round, come rain or shine. These indoor facilities have proved to be most useful, especially in the winter since it provides an indoor range with a 8 bosses at 20 yards distance and somewhere to make a cup of tea as well.
Away from club ground we also enjoy shooting in two local woods. Here we indulge in field archery amongst the bluebells in the spring or the mud during the rest of the year.
