A brief description of common events in our shooting calendar.
Open Shoots
We invite other clubs to enter archers for several shoots during the year including our Open Tournament, a record status Double York or Hereford Round (and Junior equivalents) shot over two days in July. Also a Novice Shoot and a fun shoot to celebrate the Battle of Crecy.
Frostbite Shoots
These are Postal League shoots which means that we shoot the required rounds at the club and submit the scores by post to the organisers of the shoots. We require enough archers to make up the teams on the day. Every member is welcome to take part and the highest scoring archers will make up the teams. (The Frostbite consists of 3 doz arrows at 30m on an 80cm face).
Annual Field Trophies
Eight shoots are available, 4 to be held in Gibsons Wood and 4 in Oakridge. To be eligible for the awards an archer must shoot 3 out of the 8 rounds and these must include one round from each wood.
All Rounder Trophy
This requires an archer to take part in the specified Target Round, Field Round and Clout Round to be eligible for the award.
